World No. 1 and two-time BNP Paribas Open champion Serena Williams leads the charge in Indian Wells on the women’s side after the singles draw was made on Monday afternoon.
Second-seeded Angelique Kerber has a shot at re-taking the No. 1 from Serena over the next two weeks, but there is plenty of tennis to be played before that can happen.
World No. 3 Karolina Pliskova was put on the top half of the draw with Williams, while Kerber is joined by No. 4 and 2015 Indian Wells champ Simona Halep.
