Serena Williams announced her withdrawal from both the BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open due to a left knee injury.

Serena Williams has been forced to withdraw from the bnp Paribas open 2017  and Miami open, citing a left knee injury.

A two-time champion in Indian Wells and a eight-time winner in Miami, Williams has not played since winning a record-breaking 23rd Grand Slam title in Melbourne.

"Sadly, I have to withdraw from the bnp Paribas open  in Indian Wells and the Miami Open," Serena said in a statement. "I have not been able to train due to my knees and am disappointed I cannot be there. I will keep moving forward and continue to be positive. I look forward to being back as soon as I can."
