Angelique Kerber in Qatar Total Open 2017. Hamad internacional airport. Doha

Angelique Kerber, the world No. 2 and the topmost seeded player for the 2017 Qatar Total Open, was warmly received at the Hamad International Airport in Doha on Thursday by QTF officials on her arrival for the six-day tournament.

The 2016 Australian Open champion’s plane touched down at about 1:00pm, thus becoming the first of the top-five seeds to arrive in the country.

“We are very happy to welcome Angelique Kerber to Doha and we hope that she enjoys her stay in the country as we wish her all the best at the tournament. We are looking forward to receiving the rest of the stars as well as for this six-day feast of tennis.” Tournament Director Saad al Mohannadi said.

32 players will participate in the singles while 16 teams are involved in the doubles event of the tournament which will be held from February 13 to 18 at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in Doha.
The 2017 Qatar Total Open is the 15th Anniversary edition of the prestigious annual WTA Tour event
